Come explore with us!
A field trip to Great Explorations provides the perfect combination of playing and learning for teachers and students. Teachers will appreciate that our exhibits and programs support and extend classroom learning in a hands-on, minds-on way and students will love the time out of the classroom to play and explore.
Customize your trip to create an experience you and your students will never forget! Click here to see complete descriptions of all of our School-Based Programs. *All options include time to explore the museum.
Self Exploration Field Trip – $6/student – 2 hours
After a brief orientation, you and your students will explore our 17,000 square feet of interactive exhibits at your own pace and in your own way. Of course, Museum staff will be there to help out and join in the fun along the way!
Animal Encounter Field Trip – $8/student – 2.5 hours
These 30 minute programs allow your students to get up close and personal with one of our critters.
Interactive Show Field Trip – $8/student – 2.5 hours
Education and entertainment collide in these interactive shows. Our staff may be leading the program, but there will be plenty of opportunities for audience participation and interaction in these 30 minute shows about a variety of topics that correlate to the exhibits and to your classroom curriculum.
Learning Lab Field Trip – $8/student – 2.5 hours
If you’re looking for a more hands-on experience for your students, our staff will facilitate a 30 minute, learning lab in a classroom setting. But don’t let the setting fool you, our educators will make every moment fun, engaging AND educational!
