Join us at Great Explorations for an extraordinary day dedicated to the wonders of outer space! On August 14th, we are thrilled to unveil our brand-new planetarium, where you will embark on an immersive journey through the cosmos like never before.

As you step into our state-of-the-art planetarium, prepare to be awe-struck by breathtaking visuals and captivating narratives that will transport you to distant galaxies, shimmering stars, and enchanting planets. Our interactive shows are designed to provide an engaging and educational experience for space enthusiasts of all ages.

Calling all superheroes! Get ready to unleash your extraordinary powers at our Superhero Theme Day, happening August 25th at the Great Explorations Children’s Museum!

Join us for a day filled with thrilling adventures and heroic fun and don’t forget to bring your friends and family along!

New unbe-leaf-able monthly reciprocal!

For the entire month of August, Great Explorations members will receive free admission to the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens!

This free admission is for up to 2 adults and 2 children and includes the Children’s Rainforest Garden, the Tropical Conservatory and more!

Great Explorations will be closed for building maintenance from August 7th to August 9th.

Also, on Saturday, August 5th, we will be closing at 2 pm for a special event.

This month, our Great Connections program will be superhero themed!

This program is FREE and sensory friendly for children with special needs and their families. Great Connections is a free program all thanks to Guardian Trust.

Every first Wednesday of the month from 5:30pm–7:30pm, adults (15 years old+) with neurodiversities and memory loss can come and play at the museum free of charge. We will modify lights and sounds, and will provide a “cool down” room for families who need to take a break. Connect with your family, with other families and with resources in the community!

**Although this is a sensory friendly event, we still encourage guests to bring additional sensory support (ie. noise cancelling headphones, a favorite stuffed animal)**
