Talking to Your Children About Race

We at Great Explorations Children’s Museum are saddened by the injustice happening in our country. We recognize that race and social injustice can be difficult topics to discuss with young children, so we created a list of age-appropriate resources that may be helpful when talking about these topics at home. We whole-heartedly believe in the importance of these conversations as we raise the future generation. Great Explorations remains proud to be the place where all families can learn and play.

Private Museum Rentals Available Now

Starting this month, the museum is open and available on weekends only for small private rentals in 2-hour increments! 25 total guests can play and explore at Great Ex during each private museum rental session. After each session, we will thoroughly clean and sanitize the museum. For more information on private rentals, please contact Chel at cpersonius@greatex.org.

Giving Tuesday Recap

Thank you to everyone who participated in Giving Tuesday Now on May 5th! With your generous support, Great Ex raised $3,310 and donated a grand total of 80 S.T.E.A.M. Kits to at-risk children in our community. Our interactive S.T.E.A.M. Kits are designed to promote hands-on learning experiences at home.

“I really enjoyed to see the different options the Great Ex provided to our children,” a local family case manager shared with our team. “They could paint, draw, create characters with play dough and sticks, they could snuggle a stuffed animal and work with their sensory needs. This box was a very helpful tool for our families! Thank you so much for this playful resource!”
