World Rainforest Day
June 22nd
🌿🐾 Join us Sunday, June 22nd as we shine a spotlight on the wonders of the rainforest with a special critter encounter featuring our very own Pumpkin the Crested Gecko! 🦎✨
Pumpkin has been part of our animal collection since 2022 and is a proud ambassador for rainforest reptiles. 🌧️🌳 Native to the lush rainforests of New Caledonia, Crested Geckos like Pumpkin are expert climbers thanks to their sticky toe pads, which help them scale trees and shrubs with ease. 🧗♂️🍃 They thrive in humid habitats and feel right at home when the humidity hits 70–80 percent!
Here’s a wild fact: 🧐 Crested Geckos don’t have eyelids! Instead, they keep their eyes clean and moist by licking them with their tongue. Pretty cool, right?
