We have 12 friends to choose from and don’t forget to make a wish on your friend’s star when getting them made! Plushie Hour will take place daily from 1PM to 2PM and can be purchased at our admissions desk.

Our Little Free Library’s One Year Celebration
Book Drive Update!
This October marked one year since Great Explorations started its Little Free Library! Since its beginning, our Little Free Library has supplied thousands of books to our local and visiting families. To celebrate one full year of book giving, we wanted to collect 100 books during the month of October to give to our local community and visitors.
We are proud to announce, thanks to Shumaker Law firm and each and every person who donated, we received a total of over 300 books during October to donate to our community!
Thank you for such a wonderful and successful one year celebration and for spreading the joy of reading!
Great Connections: A Free Program for Families with Special Needs
November 12th | 10:00am – 12:00pm
Our Great Connections program occurs the second Sunday of every month and includes a “cool down” room for families who need to take a break.
This program is FREE and sensory friendly for children with special needs and their families. Great Connections is a free program all thanks to Guardian Trust.

Great Ex Food Drive for Thanksgiving
November 1st – 16th
Great Explorations is hosting a food drive from November 1st through the 16th in collaboration with Radius Church St. Petersburg! For this food drive, we are looking to collect side items for main dishes (i.e.: corn, stuffing, etc).
There will be a $1 off discount from admission for each item donated, with a maximum $5 discount per person. In 2022 with Great Ex’s help, Radius along with community partners and volunteers collected enough side items and donations for over 850 families – with a goal of 1,000 families this year!
Families can also fill out the form linked below to request a Thanksgiving meal of their own, or on the behalf of another family.
Goodnight Morris Theme Day

Terrific Tots is Back!
Tuesdays & Thursdays at 10:30am
Terrific Tots is a 30-minute program available to members for $10 and $20 for non-members.
This program offers a more intimate and hands-on experience for prepping your soon-to-be preschooler!
In this program, children ages 1 to 3 years old can engage in reading, music, and engaging activities that help them develop fine motor skills, provide sensory experiences, and encourage self-expression.Learn more here!
Super Sprouts
Mondays & Wednesdays at 10:30am
Super Sprouts is a members-only, free interactive 20-minute program designed especially for children ages 1 to 3 years old that incorporates reading, music, and take-home activities that bring adults and children together in a love of literature, the arts, and science.Super Sprouts themes change once a month and this month’s theme is the First Thanksgiving! Participation is limited to 25 Tots and their caregivers each day.
The program is currently on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:30 am in the Steam Station. There is no charge for members.

Welcoming Wednesdays
November 1st | 5:30pm – 7pm
Every first Wednesday of the month from 5:30pm–7pm, adults (15 years old+) with neurodiversities and memory loss can come and play at the museum free of charge. We will modify lights and sounds, and will provide a “cool down” room for families who need to take a break. Connect with your family, with other families, and with resources in the community!
**Although this is a sensory-friendly event, we still encourage guests to bring additional sensory support (ie. noise-canceling headphones, a favorite stuffed animal)**
