Plushie Pals Sleepover Party

October 7th and 8th

Your child’s favorite stuffed animal friend is invited to a sleepover party at the museum this week!

Drop off your child’s plushie pal at museum this Friday, October 7th. Throughout the night, you can follow along on Instagram, where we’ll share photos and stories of the Plushie Pals Party fun! Then on Saturday morning, October 8th, return to the museum for a celebration! Enjoy breakfast as your little one and their stuffed animal friend reunite.

Great Eeks-plorations

Saturday, October 29th | 10am–4pm

This year’s Great Eeks-plorations will be full of spook-tacular surprises!

Come dressed up as your favorite characters and grab some candy. Find your way through the creepy spider maze, observe our mad scientist make a mess, explore and collect prizes in a scavenger hunt, dance the “Monster Mash” with Morris the Explorasaurus, and more!

Great Ex Members get in free during the month of October

As part of our local reciprocal program, Great Ex-members can receive free admission to visit The Tampa Baseball Museum for the entire month of October! Show your digital membership card on the app to receive free admission tickets for everyone listed on your membership.

Friday, October 14th

Join us for an entire day of farm activities! Get into the spirt of the harvest season and dress up like a farmer. Kids can build their own tractor, craft some farm animal puppets, and create flower pot decorations. This will be a fun day for the whole family!

Opening Ceremony | October 5th at 9:30am

Join us for our opening ceremony on October 5th starting at 9:30am in the Exploration Station! Please help us fill our Little Free Library by donating books at this event. Snacks and Refreshments will be provided.

The opening of the Little Free Library makes Great Explorations Children’s Museum one of 150,000 boxes in 1115 countries that are a visible commitment to literacy.  These Little Free Libraries offer equitable access to community members who share a love of books.  Little Free Library is a non-profit organization that has chartered our official Little Free Library, a free book-sharing box where anyone can take a book or share a favorite of theirs.  We are proud to be part of this worldwide literacy project.

Great Connections

A free program for families with special needs

On the second Sunday of every month, Great Explorations Children’s Museum will close to the general public from 10 am-12 pm and open for families with special needs to come and enjoy Great Connections.

This month, Hopebridge Autism Therapy Center will be here and kids will be sifting and screening to search for jewels and fossils, building a dinosaur using the large dino blocks, and making shark tooth necklaces.

Spooky Science Day

You know it’s going to be a fun day when spooky science is involved!

Great Ex has a whole day of fun and spooky science planned. Create some beaded pumpkins, make some ghost rockets, string up some mummies, mix up some halloween slime, and more! This special day comes at no additional cost to regular admission.
