This year’s Great EEK-Splorations is Fall Festival-themed with a pirate twist!
Come in your best Halloween costume* and show it off in our costume fashion show. There will also be festival games, pumpkin explosions and dancing with Morris the Explorasaurus!
Rumor has it, pirates have heard of all the great fun and treasures to be had at EEK-Splorations this year and want it all for themselves! Help steal back the treasure map before the pirates takeover!

Plushie Pals
October 13th -14th
Your favorite plushie friend is invited to our sleepover party this October 13th!
Drop off your plushie pal between 3-4:30 pm on Friday, October 13th. Throughout the night, you can follow along on Instagram and see all the Plushie Pals Party fun! Then on Saturday morning, October 14th, between 9:30-10:30 am, return to the museum for a celebration! Families can enjoy breakfast as their little ones and their stuffed animal friends reunite.

Our Little Free Library’s One Year Celebration
Month of October
This October marks one year since Great Explorations started its Little Free Library! Since its beginning, our Little Free Library has supplied thousands of books to our local and visiting families.
To celebrate one full year of book giving, we are looking to collect 100 books during the month of October to give to our local community and visitors. If you or anyone you know is looking to give away used books, please come visit us at our museum!

Great Connections: A Free Program for Families with Special Needs
October 8th | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Our Great Connections program occurs the second Sunday of every month and includes a “cool down” room for families who need to take a break.
This program is FREE and sensory friendly for children with special needs and their families. Great Connections is a free program all thanks to Guardian Trust.

Red Ribbon Week
October 23rd – 31st
We need your help to Light-Up America in red throughout the week of October 23rd-31st.
Show your support in keeping America Drug-Free by lightning up your building, organization, landmark, school, or home! You can use a Red Lightbulb 💡❤️to shine a light on Drug Education and Prevention. Don’t forget to use #GoRedforRedRibbon. We want to give you the opportunity to be vocal and visible by shining a light for voices everywhere to achieve a drug-free community.
Super Sprouts
Super Sprouts is a members-only, free interactive 20-minute program designed especially for children ages 1 to 3 years old that incorporates reading, music, and take-home activities that bring adults and children together in a love of literature, the arts, and science.
Super Sprouts themes change once a month and this month’s theme is Fall! Participation is limited to 25 Tots and their caregivers each day.The program is currently on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:30 am in the Steam Station. There is no charge for members.

Terrific Tots is Back!
Terrific Tots is a 30-minute program available to members for $10 and $20 for non-members.
This program offers a more intimate and hands-on experience for prepping your soon-to-be preschooler!
In this program, children ages 1 to 3 years old can engage in reading, music, and engaging activities that help them develop fine motor skills, provide sensory experiences, and encourage self-expression.Learn more here!
Welcoming Wednesdays
Every First Wednesday of the Month
Every first Wednesday of the month from 5:30pm–7:30pm, adults (15 years old+) with neurodiversities and memory loss can come and play at the museum free of charge. We will modify lights and sounds, and will provide a “cool down” room for families who need to take a break. Connect with your family, with other families and with resources in the community!
**Although this is a sensory friendly event, we still encourage guests to bring additional sensory support (ie. noise cancelling headphones, a favorite stuffed animal)**
