Private Birthday Party Package

The private birthday package is only available on Sundays from 10am–12pm while the museum is closed the the general public. After your private party, you and your guests are welcome to enjoy Great Explorations for the entire day (12pm–4pm). A designated host will provide you with any assistance that you may need to ensure you and your guests have an amazing party!

Your birthday party space will be ready at the time of your reservation, and you and your guests have open-play admission for the entire day. The party space is available for additional decor and set up 15 minutes prior to the party start time, and there is no guarantee that the space will be available before then. Our team is here to assist you with the setup and breakdown of your party. If you choose to do additional decorations, we encourage you to keep those at a minimum so you are able to maximize your time enjoying the party and all of the special moments happening on the gallery floor.

Our birthday party space can accommodate up to 30 guests. All of your guests are allowed into the museum for free (this includes you and the birthday kid). Additional guests may be added for additional fee.

Great Ex Members receive exclusive discounts on birthday parties! These savings will be applied to the remainder of your balance when you arrive on the day of your celebration:
Basic, Great, and Explorer members enjoy $50 off the total price of the birthday package.
Morris members receive an incredible 50% off the total price of the birthday package.

I understand there is a 30 guest limit.

Great Explorations has a guest limit of 30 people for all birthday packages. Parties with more than 30 guests will incur an additional charge of $10 per person. Any extra guest fees will be added to your balance and collected when you check in for your party.

ADD ON ACTIVITY: Spin Art

Drip, spin, and create! Kids decorate a canvas and our electric spinner transforms it into a one-of-a-kind work of art to take home after drying. This activity has a base cost of $80 and includes up to 10 children. Additional participants are $8 per child. Pricing for this add-on will be adjusted and added to your total on the day of your party based on the final number of participants.

ADD ON ACTIVITY: Fossil Gem Dig

Kids can dig into a large fossil bin to uncover hidden treasures. Each child will take home at least two fossils or gems and receive a small fossil carrying pouch to bring their discoveries home. This activity has a base cost of $80 and includes up to 10 children. Additional participants are $8 per child. Pricing for this add-on will be adjusted and added to your total on the day of your party based on the final number of participants.

ADD ON ACTIVITY: Make-A-Morris Stuffy Party

Kids will create their very own Morris plushie from start to finish, bringing everyone’s favorite Explorasaurus to life. Each child gets to stuff and personalize their plush, and the experience includes a special wishing star and a plush birth certificate to make it official. The birthday child also receives a Morris shirt to make their experience extra memorable. This activity has a base cost of $150 and includes up to 10 children. Additional participants are $15 per child. Pricing for this add-on will be adjusted and added to your total on the day of your party based on the final number of participants.

ADD ON ACTIVITY: Silent Disco

Lights are turned down to create a fun party atmosphere while kids choose from three music genres to enjoy through headphones. Staff keep the energy going with bubbles, and glow sticks are provided to make the experience extra exciting. This activity is $200 and can accommodate up to 30 guests at a time. The cost of this add-on will be added to your total on the day of your party.

ADD ON ACTIVITY: Dance Party

Lights are turned down to create a fun party atmosphere, with a choice of 2–4 songs played over the museum speakers. Staff keep the energy going with bubbles, and glow sticks are provided to add to the excitement. This experience is $100 and is available for groups of any size. The cost of this add-on will be added to your total on the day of your party.

Description

Refund & Cancellation Policy for Parties, Field Trips, and Rentals

  • Cancellations less than 2 weeks in advance will forfeit 100% of the deposit.
  • Cancellations made 2 weeks or more in advance will receive a 50% refund of the deposit.
  • Full refunds are only issued if the museum must cancel due to unexpected closure.
  • Birthday Party ADD ON options are included in the deposit, but are 100% refundable if plans change.

Great Explorations has a very strict NO drop-off policy. If a parent cannot stay to supervise their children for the duration of the party, their children will also not be able to stay. This rule is in place to safeguard the children and relieve any liability on the part of the birthday host. Your party could be terminated if the birthday host violates our drop-off policy.
