A FREE program for families with special needs!

Introducing our revamped program, Safe Spaces! Formerly known as Welcoming Wednesdays, Safe Spaces is now a personalized experience scheduled on a case-by-case basis. This program caters to adults (15 years and older) with special needs, including neurodiversities and memory loss, along with their families.

Under Safe Spaces, guests can enjoy complimentary access to the museum at a time and date that suits them best. We’ve curated a sensory-friendly environment with adjusted lights and sounds, ensuring a comfortable experience for everyone. Families looking for a moment of respite can utilize our dedicated “cool down” room.

To make the most of Safe Spaces, interested participants are invited to reach out to our Guest Experience Manager, Bella Perkins. Bella will assist in scheduling a customized visit that accommodates your preferences and needs. Strengthen connections within your family, forge new bonds with others, and discover valuable community resources during this unique and tailored museum experience!

For scheduling and inquiries, kindly contact Bella Perkins at bperkins@greatex.org. We look forward to creating memorable moments with you at Safe Spaces!

**Although this is a sensory-friendly event, we still encourage guests to bring additional sensory support (ie. noise-canceling headphones, a favorite stuffed animal)**
