St. PETERSBURG, FL (April 1, 2025) — Great Explorations Children’s Museum announces a charitable gift of $5,000 from the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. The funds will be used for InReach Field Trips to Great Explorations for students attending local Title 1 elementary schools.
On a field trip to the museum, children explore our hands-on, innovative learning environment, with opportunities to participate in various educational programming spanning the range of STEAM subjects.
Angeline Howell LMHC, CEO of Great Explorations, shared the following message: “Great Explorations cannot thank the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation enough for their continued support of educational enrichment experiences for underserved children in our community. Being able to bring children to Great Explorations for a field trip allows us to open their minds to a creative space where children can make a mess, make a discovery, and make a new best friend. Play is essential to a child’s development, helping them to navigate the world and learn through hands-on interaction, process their feelings and emotions, and learn coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills.”
Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union, founded the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to promote the education, health and emotional well-being of children in the community. Each time a Suncoast member uses their debit or credit card, the credit union donates two cents to the Foundation to fund local initiatives. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has raised and donated over $45 million.
