Great Extravaganza Prom: Dancing Through the Decades

Put your dancing shoes on and join us for our annual signature fundraising event, Great Extravaganza! This year, we are thrilled to host the event at Eckerd College on Saturday, October 12th. Enjoy a wide array of silent auction items, a sumptuous plated dinner, a full bar, captivating entertainment, and a dance floor calling your name.
Proceeds from Great Extravaganza will help us empower and educate children in our community, focusing on programming for middle school students and beyond. Great Explorations Children’s Museum is committed to providing exceptional, hands-on STEAM programming that benefits children of all abilities in our community. Join us as we continue to move full steam ahead with our mission to stimulate learning through creativity, play, and exploration.

Hurricane Helene Relief Drive
October 1st – October 7th
Our community is coming together to support our preschool families affected by Hurricane Helene.
We’re collecting donations to help those in need. Every little bit counts and your contribution can make a big difference!
🧼 Items of need:
- Cleaning supplies
- Children’s shoes (variety of sizes)
- Children’s clothes and pajamas (3T – 10 Yrs)
- Laundry supplies
- Trash bags
- Storage bins
- Non-perishable foods
- Water
📅 We’re collecting 10/1 – 10/7.
📍 Please drop off all donations at the admissions desk of Great Explorations Children’s Museum.

This monthly program is tailored for children on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing differences, along with their families. 💙
This month, we’re celebrating all things Fall! 🍂🎃 Enjoy fun activities and crafts, and don’t forget—we’ll have a “cool down” room for anyone who needs a break.
We will also have a new community partner this month, DJ Nicholson!
DJ Nicholson is not only the Creative Director of Inclusiveology but also an Educational Coach, Trainer, and Inclusion Specialist.

Great Eeks-plorations

Get ready for a spooktacular time at Eeks-plorations, the annual Halloween celebration at Great Explorations Children’s Museum! This year’s event is packed with fang-tastic activities for kids of all ages. Craft your very own monster pets, hanging bats, and beaded spiders, and show off your spooky creativity.
Join in the fun with broom races, a mummy wrapping contest, and Halloween story time. Watch pumpkins explode, experience the thrills of our mad scientist segment, and strut your stuff in our red carpet costume contest! Don’t forget to get your face painted to complete your spooky transformation.
This year, we’re excited to introduce the Eeks-Factor Room, brought to you by the Reptile Discovery Center. Step inside if you dare and discover if you can handle the creepy crawlies waiting for you. Are you ready to find out if fear is not a factor for you—the Great Ex way?

Terrific Tots
Every Tuesday & Thursday Morning, 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Terrific Tots is back!
Join us every Tuesday and Thursday for a new school year in our Great Beginnings area.
Members get early access at 10:15 am, while non-members can join at 10:30 am. The program runs until 11:00 am and features exciting activities such as read-alouds, sing-alongs, and games.
Terrific Tots is included with the regular cost of admission.
Stick around after Terrific Tots to join us for our exciting new program for kids two and under, Book Babies! We’ll be heading over to Busy Burg for singing, reading, and lots of fun!
